FAQ

RESERVATIONS

x

Is a reservation required?

While we do accept walk-ins, we strongly recommend booking a table through our website. A credit card is required to secure your reservation. No deposit will be charged at the time of booking, except for tables with more than 6 guests.
For groups larger than 6, a deposit of €30/person will be charged to the card provided during the booking process. This amount will be deducted from the final bill, unless a no-show or late cancellation occurs, as outlined in our cancellation policy.
For more information, visit the banquets page.

x

What is the cover charge?

The cover charge is €8 per person and is only applied if the final bill is less than €40 per person.

x

How long can I keep the table?

Two hours.
If your reservation is at 7:00 PM, 7:15 PM, or 7:30 PM, we will kindly ask you to vacate the table at 9:00 PM, 9:15 PM, or 9:30 PM, respectively.
A dinner at Pietra Rossa typically lasts about two hours, so even if you book during these time slots, you won’t feel rushed. During colder seasons, service is in our cozy indoor dining room, which is why we kindly ask for timely departures to accommodate all reservations. In the summer, everyone wants to dine in our magnificent outdoor space. To give everyone a chance to enjoy it, we request that tables are vacated after two hours, although the indoor dining area is also available.

x

What is your cancellation policy?

In the event of a no-show for a confirmed reservation or a cancellation made less than 6 hours before, €30 per person will be charged to the card provided during booking. Exceptions are noted during the online booking process and in our banquet section.

x

What happens if I arrive late for my reservation?

We will hold your table for 15 minutes after your reservation time. If the party does not show up (even partially) or fails to notify us of the delay by phone, we reserve the right to consider the reservation a no-show.

x

What happens if I arrive early for my reservation?

If you arrive 10–15 minutes early and your table is available, we will gladly seat you. You can enjoy an aperitif, but your order will be taken at the original booking time.
If you arrive earlier than this, we kindly ask that you return at your scheduled reservation time.

x

Can I cancel or modify my reservation?

Yes, cancellations or modifications can be made with at least 6 hours’ notice (unless explicitly stated otherwise).
You can cancel or modify your reservation directly through the confirmation email, by writing to pr@pietrarossavenezia.com, or by calling us directly. For changes made with less than 6 hours' notice (cancellations, reductions in the number of guests, or modifications), a penalty of €30 per person will apply (unless stated otherwise).

x

Can I organize an event at Pietra Rossa?

We offer private event packages. You can find all the details in the banquets section of our website.

x

I can’t find availability for my desired date. Is there a waitlist?

We do not have a waitlist, but we recommend checking availability on our website around 3:00 PM on the day you’d like to book.

x

Can I book a table in the garden?

Pietra Rossa does not guarantee garden seating. Availability depends on the order of bookings and weather conditions. We will note your request.

x

Can I visit just for a drink at the bar?

We are happy to welcome guests for a bottle of wine or a drink in our outdoor area, if space is available. However, we cannot guarantee service.

THE CUISINE

x

What kind of cuisine do you serve at Pietra Rossa?

Pietra Rossa offers a seasonal menu with modern dishes rooted in Venetian traditions, with a strong focus on local ingredients. Our menu does not follow the traditional division of appetizers, mains, and desserts but is instead organized by increasing flavor intensity and complexity. Vegetarian options are always available.

x

Do you only serve the tasting menu, or can I order à la carte?

We love offering our Fa’ Ti Menu, a three-course menu (dessert excluded) selected by us, tailored to your dietary needs, allergies, or special requests.
The à la carte menu is always available for tables of up to 6 people. For larger groups, we reserve the right to offer the Fa’ Ti Menu or a unified menu for the entire table. Please inform us of any allergies or intolerances when booking.

x

How large are the à la carte portions?

Understanding that appetites vary, some dishes are available as either a “tasting” portion or a full portion. Generally, our portions are slightly larger than an appetizer.

x

Who is the chef?

We work as a team. Andrea and Anna carry the “historical memory” of the cuisine that has distinguished us over the years.

x

Is choosing the Fa’ Ti Menu mandatory when booking?

No, it is not mandatory. You can always choose from the à la carte menu. For groups larger than 6, however, we reserve the right to propose the Fa’ Ti Menu or a unified menu for the table. Please communicate any allergies or intolerances to us in advance.

x

Why is the Fa’ Ti Chill Menu more expensive?

The Fa’ Ti Chill Menu features exclusively fresh, local seafood, which naturally incurs a slightly higher cost. If you don’t eat meat and don’t wish to have all three courses as seafood, you can opt for the regular Fa’ Ti Menu, with mostly vegetarian dishes.

x

What is a “bocòn”?

A “bocòn” is a bite—a small, special tasting prepared in the kitchen with the freshest ingredients of the day. You can enjoy it whenever you like: before, during, or after the Fa’ Ti Menu. It’s so small it can be eaten in one bite, so it’s not shareable!

x

I have dietary needs or allergies. What should I do?

We can adapt our menu for most dietary needs and allergies, provided we are informed in advance when booking.

x

I’m vegetarian—will that be a problem? What if I’m vegan?

Vegetarian options are always available on our menu, but please let us know your preference when booking. For vegan guests, we kindly ask for notification at the time of booking.
